bayou city art festival
The 13th Annual Bayou City Art Festival at Memorial Park in Houston is an
award-winning one-of-a-kind outdoor art gallery that will be held March 26-28
from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. all three days. Not only does this festival showcase local
artists, but it also features international and top galleried artists from all
over the country.
The event has gained national recognition from AmericanStyle Magazine and the International Festival & Events Association, and has the local reputation of the “Best Festival in Houston” by the Houston Press.
The natural green décor of Memorial Park offers a beautiful backdrop for the incredible selection of
juried fine art by 300 artists representing 17 media formats, multicultural
music and dance on the Houston Arts Alliance stage, international food and
wine, as well as an interactive art at the Creative Zone.
Admission is $10 for adults and free for children 12 and under.

Radio Music Theatre presents Birthday From Hell through May 8 at 2623 Colquitt near Richmond and Kirby.
As Birthday From Hell begins, Bridgette Fertle is in the midst of her mid-life crisis. She is about to
turn 40 and believes her quality of life is headed straight downhill. To make
matters worse, everyone seems to have forgotten her birthday.
Performances are every Thursday and Friday at 8:30 p.m. and Saturday at 8 p.m.
and 10:30 p.m. Admission is $24.

RODEO RUN, feb. 27
The 23rd annual ConocoPhillips Rodeo Run, which includes a 10K race and 5K fun
run/walk, will take place on Saturday, Feb. 27. The event raises scholarship
funds for Texas youth and will once again lead the Houston Livestock Show and
Rodeo
™ Parade past thousands of cheering spectators in downtown Houston.
A record 13,000 participants are expected to dash through the streets of
downtown past thousands of spectators. Since its inception, the ConocoPhillips
Rodeo Run has raised more than $2.2 million for the HLSR Educational Fund.
Runners and walkers will experience Houston’s only point-to-point 10K race and 5K fun run/walk in a festive atmosphere that
celebrates Houston
’s heritage. A combination of Texas flavor and hospitality, along with a
Texas-size post-race party, makes the event one of the most popular and
memorable races in the region.

Houston-based Marathon Oil Corporation, a long-time partner of AIDS Foundation
Houston in the fight against HIV/AIDS, is the title sponsor of the 21st Annual
AIDS Walk Houston to be held on Sunday, March 14.
AIDS Walk Houston is the largest HIV/AIDS fundraiser of its kind in Texas. Funds
raised will help AFH, and several other HIV/AIDS service organizations, provide
housing, testing, food, medical care, prevention education, counseling,
pediatric programs and job training to thousands of Houstonians living with or
at risk for HIV/AIDS. Donations made during AIDS Walk Houston will continue to
support over 5,000 clients a year with housing and basic necessities.

5K Fun Run/Walk, March 6
The greater Houston area has one of the highest incidences of stroke in Texas,
and stroke is the third leading cause of death in the United States. The
