is just perfectly present. Not too much glass, just enough wood, tasteful texture, a pinch of print and a splash of color, of course, to bounce off the blues and browns. In each room, some element is principal. In the front of the house, where the formal living space is adjoined by both the formal dining and office to define a large and open area, the chief element is wood. From the floors to the furniture to the piano, wood dominates and yet is balanced with all of the softer elements present: fluid blues, soft animal prints, glass furniture and accent pieces and color in the art, which in most rooms features an element of water. Very zen.
The style and colors of the front spaces set a tone that is repeated subtly throughout the beautiful home. Moving forward through the arched doorways, the kitchen and breakfast room are defined by towering ceilings and large furniture, which lend their energy to big families and big football player-size people.
When I asked if they actually cook in the kitchen, Chester and LaToya both happily answered, “Yes!” Though Thursday nights are reserved for Chester to join his fellow offensive linemen for dinner “out,” they mostly eat at home. LaToya brags that Chester has a recipe published in the NBC Sunday Night NFL Football Cookbook; Chester brags that LaToya makes a mean baked spaghetti.
Fully open to the kitchen and breakfast room, in the informal living space, the soft, yet durable, large leather furniture clearly communicates, “We live here.” Chester’s favorite piece of furniture is the oversized recliner in this room. Splashes of color and prints jump out of the home ’s recurrent earth and water shades via the art selections and accessories in the area. A big flat screen television hangs atop the fireplace, visible from the entire space, making this the ideal spot for gathering with friends and family, especially in a home where football is king.
The master bedroom echoes the transitional, minimalist style. Like the rest of the home, this room is expansive, so large furniture fills the space naturally and comfortably. A high, coffered ceiling crowns the room accented with elegant shutters that are four-and-one-half-inches wide. Walls of windows frame the ivory-colored room with chocolate and soft blue accents, coastal art and LaToya ’s favorite piece of furniture, the writing desk .
The upstairs is home to more bedrooms and more common living space, including a game room, where Chester ’s commemorative jerseys and game balls share space with a big pool table; and a media room, featuring overstuffed and oversized theater seating and state-of-the-art audio/visual equipment.                  continued pg 3
The family room is host to Chester’s favorite piece of furniture: his recliner. After a lengthy selection process, he finally decided on this one by American Leather that is large enough for his frame and one that doesn ’t look like a recliner. Situated with the flat screen television and fireplace as the focal points, this room is perfect for lounging while watching the big games.

The master bedroom, LaToya’s favorite room in the house, reflects her taste, but the scope of the room is definitely large enough for Chester to feel more than comfortable. The room ’s colors are reflective of those used throughout the home—ivory and chocolate with fluid blues—and texture in this room abounds, from the silk ribbed drapes from Beacon Hill, to the Highland Court bedding fabric in velvet, to the oil painting over the bed, which even has a white linen liner. LaToya ’s writing desk was a surprise from Chester on installation day. The lounge chairs by TRS in the sitting area are also special as the factory had custom cushions installed to support Chester ’s 310-pound frame. The tortoise shell table is by Theodore Alexander.
